Pick Packer | Meat Processing

GoAllan Services is seeking a reliable Pick Packer for ongoing work with a meat production business in Moorabbin.

This role involves preparing and packing meat products for dispatch to stores across Victoria and interstate. You’ll be working in a cool-room environment, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in cold conditions and have good attention to detail.

Previous pick-packing or food-production experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential. Training will be provided for the right person.

Your duties

• Picking meat products according to order and picking lists.
• Checking products, quantities, weights and product details before dispatch.
• Packing orders accurately for local and interstate deliveries.
• Labelling products and cartons as required.
• Handling a range of packaged meat products including ham, salami, sausages, mince and other smallgoods.
• Organising completed orders and preparing them for dispatch.
• Assisting with general pick-packing and cool-room duties as required.
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures.

What we’re looking for

• Good practical literacy and numeracy skills, as accuracy with orders, quantities, weights and labels is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow picking lists correctly.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for 5:00 am starts.
• Reliable transport to Moorabbin.
• Comfortable working in a cool-room environment.
• A willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Ideally someone interested in ongoing work within the meat or food-production industry.

This role is less physically demanding than a general production labouring position, however you will still be on your feet and handling products, tubs and cartons throughout the shift.
